Farmers demonstrate near the Congress Palace of Merida where a Informal Meeting of EU Agriculture Ministers is held on June 1, 2010 in Merida. The Informal Meeting of Agriculture Ministers will be devoted to reflecting on the future of the CAP reform and the challenges that lie ahead: anticipating the rise in population which will make it necessary to double world agricultural output between now and 2050; preserving the environment and biodiversity and combating climate change, at the same time as continuing to contribute to economic growth and job creation in the European Union.
