(FILES) A picture taken on February 20, 2008 in Toul, eastern France shows French general Marcel Bigeard posing at his home. Born in 1916, General Bigeard died on June 18, 2010 in Toul, eastern France. Bigeard is considered as one of the most decorated soldiers in France who fought in World War II, Indochina, and Algeria. After resigning from the army in 1976, Bigeard entered politics becoming a deputy for the region Meurthe-et-Moselle, and served as a minister in the government of Valery Giscard d''Estaing.
