ARGENTINA-FRANCE-MEXICO-DOMERGUE-CIALCETA
View of the plaque in homage of French citizen Yves Domergue and Mexican Cristina Cialceta at Melincue cemetry in Santa Fe province on August 7, 2010. The plaque reads "Cristina Cialceta and Yves Domergue popular militants, missing and buried here as NN in September 1976, identified on May 2010. We thank Melincue citizens for having taken care of them". The bodies of French citizen Yves Domergue and Mexican Cristina Cialceta, kidnapped in 1976 during Argentina's dictatorship (1976-1983), were identified 34 years later, the brother of Domergue announced on July 27, 2010. The two bodies were buried in the local cemetery as NN (without identification) on September 29, 1976, three days after being found by a farmer on the side of the road in the outskirts of Melincue. The victims had been brutally tortured before been shot to death. The identification was made possible mainly thanks to a high school teacher from Melincue who encouraged her pupils to investigate the case, and to the information provided by a former civil servant who kept the file of the victim's fate all these years.
