A worker controls a cement mixer producing the concrete which is used to fill cracks occured at the Asse II nuclear waste storage facility, which is at risk to collapse, on September 9, 2010 in Remlingen near Wolfenbuettel, central Germany. The test was made in preparation of the planned recall of about 126,000 barrels with nuclear waste. The Asse pit, a former salt mine in the region, is used as a deep geological repository for radioactive waste. Environmentalists and residents plead for the closure of the facility because of the pit's instability and the danger of the hazardous materials stored there. AFP PHOTO POOL JOCHEN LUEBKE
