On strike employees of the French oil giant Total refinery of Donges cast their ballots on October 29, 2010 during a general assembly to decide whether to continue actions or not. Many of the last strikers holding out against President Nicolas Sarkozy's pension reform returned to work today, heralding a possible end to their battle but leaving France with a profound social malaise.
