A candle and a notice reading "I thank my guardian angel..." stands on July 24, 2011 at the tunnel where panic broke out one year ago during the Loveparade in Duisburg, western Germany, killing 21 people. It is the first anniversary of the disaster in which victims were crushed to death in a stampede as they desperately tried to escape the narrow tunnel that served as the only entrance to the grounds hosting the techno music festival.
