BANGLADESH-CRIME-POLICE
TO GO WITH Bangladesh-crime-police,FEATURE by Cat Barton
This photo taken on June 2, 2011 shows 16-year-old Bangladeshi student Limon Hossain (C) posing with relatives, after being shot by Bangladesh's Rapid Action Battalion, at a hospital in Dhaka. Bangladesh's much-feared Rapid Action Battalion police force kill about 100 "criminals" a year, but when they shot 16-year-old Limon Hossain they discovered that even their impunity might have its limits. Hossain, a student who has become symbol of anger at tactics commonly used by elite "RAB" officers, was hit at point-blank range and survived only after his leg was amputated.
