KENYA-ENVIRONMENT-NOBEL-MAATHAI-FUNERAL
A man holds a calender bearing the portrait of late environmentalist and Nobel peace laureate Wangari Maathai, on October 8, 2011 from the Lee Funeral home in Nairobi for cremation. Maathai in 2004 became the first African woman to be awarded the Nobel peace prize for taking "a holistic approach to sustainable development that embraces democracy, human rights and women's rights in particular."
