CROATIA-WAR-ANNIVERSARY
Croatian President Ivo Josipovic (2nd R) and Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor (R) pay their respects during a ceremony at the 1991 war victims cemetery in the eastern Croatian town of Vukovar on November 18, 2011, during the 20th anniversary of the town's fall to Serb forces, the bloodiest episode of Croatia's 1991-1995 independence war. The fall of Vukovar marked the beginning of Croatia's war of independence from the former Yugoslavia, which claimed around 20,000 lives. During the Vukovar siege, some 1,600 defenders and civilians were killed and the town was practically razed to the ground. AFP PHOTO/HRVOJE POLAN
