A handout picture released by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on April 24, 2013, shows one of two Russian planes carrying 23 tons of humanitarian aid donated by Russian civilians being unloaded following its arrival at Latakia airport in northern Syria. Moscow is one of Syria's Presiden't Bashar al-Assad's few remaining backers and it frequently provides the regime with military and other assistance, though it says it opposes foreign intervention in the Syrian conflict.
