BOSNIA-WAR-CRIMES-REMEMBRANCE
Several hundreds of Bosnian people, from several cities (banners: "Sarajevo", "Mostar", "Zenica") gather to commemorate "The White Banner Day" in Western-Bosnian town of Prijedor, on May 31, 2013. During a peaceful gathering and protest walk, people carried banner with slogan "Because it Concerns Me" (Jer Me Se Tice) and demanded that a monument is built in Prijedor to commemorate all civilian casualties, regardless of their nationality of confessional alignment. The White Banner Day is marked to commemorate the day when Bosnian Serb Authorities in Prijedor, in 1992, enforced the decision that all non-Serb population should wear white armbands when in public and all houses belonging to non-Serbs to be marked with a white flag. Disobedience was punishable by death. AFP PHOTO ELVIS BARUKCIC
