People walk on the Venice Beach boardwalk on August 4, 2013. One day earlier, Italian newlywed Alice Gruppioni, 32, was killed after a man slammed his car into tourists on the famous boardwalk in Venice, approximately 18 miles (29 km) southwest of downtown Los Angeles. A 38-year-old man was charged with murder in the incident which killed Gruppioni and injured 11 others, police said. AFP PHOTO / ROBYN BECK
