US police identified an alleged serial killer on October 20 and said that the 43-year old sex offender has admitted involvement in at least seven murders and may have carried out many more. An investigation into a murder at a motel led investigators to Gary, Indiana resident Darren Vann, who admitted his involvement in the first killing and led investigators to six more bodies. The victims were all adult women and their bodies were found in abandoned houses. During a press conference in Hammond, Indiana, police said it was likely there are more killings that stretch years back.
