GERMANY-HISTORY-JEWS-HOLOCAUST
(FILES) A picture dated November 10, 1938 in an unlocated city in Germany, shows a Jewish-run store after it has been vandalized by Nazis and its frontwall inscripted with antisemitic graffitis probably after the socalled Kristallnacht, also known as 'The Night of Broken Glass'. As Germany prepares to mark the 75th anniversary of the Progrom on November 9 and 10, 2013, a new book calls into question the event long cited as triggering the orgy of violence against the Jewish community. The attacks saw Nazi thugs plunder Jewish businesses throughout Germany, torch synagogues and round up about 30,000 Jewish men for deportation to concentration camps.
