(FILES) A picture dated November 12, 1938 shows the Nazi flag-draped coffin of German diplomat Ernst Vom Rath at the German embassy in Paris during his funeral. As Germany prepares to mark the 75th anniversary of the Kristallnacht on November 9 and 10, 2013, a new book is shedding light on the murder of vom Rath, whose November 7, 1938 death Nazi leaders seized upon as pretext for the pogrom against the Jewish community. The attacks saw Nazi thugs plunder Jewish businesses throughout Germany, torch synagogues and round up about 30,000 Jewish men for deportation to concentration camps.
