SWITZERLAND-IRAN-NUCLEAR-POLITICS-TALKS
A picture released by the European Commission shows Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif (2nd-R) and his deputy Seyyed Abbas Araghchi (R) meeting with EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton (C), Helga Maria Schmid (3rd-L), deputy secretary general of the European External Action Service (EEAS) and James Morrison (2nd-L), head of Ashton's cabinet, during talks over Iran's nuclear programme in Geneva on November 20, 2013. Zarif told the Mehr news agency that his talks with the P5+1 powers' chief negotiator Ashton were "good". The powers want the talks, the third since moderate Hassan Rouhani became president in August, to result in a "first phase" deal involving the freezing of certain of Iran's nuclear activities.
