INDIA-ENVIRONMENT-ELEPHANT
Indian forest guards mounted on domesticated elephants drive away a herd of eight wild elephants which strayed onto farm land on the outskirts of Mysore, in southern Karntaka state on December 3, 2013. The Karnataka State Forest Department personnel are sparing no effort to prevent the wild jumbos from rampaging into human habitats and ensure that they return safely to the Omkara forest region (a part of Bandipur National Park). The pachyderms have been isolated on a hillock by bursting crackers all around and four domesticated elephants are positioned across the path that the wild jumbos might take to enter the outskirts of the city.
