(FILES) In this photograph taken on December 19, 2012, Indian students and activists carry placards at India Gate during a protest following the gang-rape of a student in the Indian capital. India erupted in protest following the fatal gang-rape of a 23-year-old physiotherapy student on December 16, 2012. The student, set upon in New Delhi while she was on a bus home from the cinema with a male friend, died two weeks later from her injuries, some of them inflicted with an iron rod.
