Bolivian President Evo Morales (3-R), Vice-President Alvaro Garcia Linera (2-R) and other authorities hold a meeting in La Paz on February 3, 2014 with Bolivian former Foreign ministers (L-R) Carlos Saavedra Bruno, Carlos Iturralde (covered), Javier Murillo de la Rocha, Agustin Saavedra, Armando Loayza Mariaca and Juan Ignacio Siles to analize the decision of the Hague-based International Court of Justice (ICJ) last week confirming Chile's sovereignty over waters up to 80 nautical miles (92 land miles, 148 kilometers) from the coast but handing Lima a large swathe of less lucrative ocean beyond that limit. A border dispute stemming from the 19th-century War of the Pacific redefined Peru's and Bolivia's borders, with Peru losing 25 percent of its territory and Bolivia losing access to the sea. In April 2013 Bolivia filed a suit urging the ICJ to force Chile to negotiate an accord granting now-landlocked Bolivia a sovereign corridor to the sea. AFP PHOTO / Jorge Bernal
