NETHERLANDS-ART-GOLDEN AGE

This handout photo provided by the Amsterdam Museum shows the 1656 painting "De anatomisches les van Dr. Deijman" (The anatomy lesson of Dr. Deijman) by Rembrandt. The Amsterdam Museum, Hermitage Amsterdam and the Rijksmuseum presented on February 12, 2014 the joint project of a permanent exhibition of over thirty 17th- and 18th-century group portraits. Provisionally titled 'Gallery of the Golden Age', this will be the first presentation of so many group portraits of this size in a single show. These paintings are unique in the art world and they portray a characteristically Dutch burgher society. The presentation opens in late November 2014 at the Hermitage Amsterdam museum.
