CANADA-FORESTRY-ENVIRONMENT-HUNTING-NATIVE
TO GO WITH AFP STORY by Clement Sabourin, Canada-forestry-environment-hunting-native
A logging machine cuts trees in a forest north of the Indian Cree community of Waswanipi, Canada, 600kms (373 miles) north of Montreal on March 11, 2014. The Waswanipi community is fighting to protect 13,000 square kilometers (5,020 square miles) of forest north of their village in the Broadback Valley, one of the last remaining virgin boreal forest of Quebec, from the logging industry that keeps pushing its way further north. The Cree are also fighting to keep their traditional hunting rights in the forest. AFP PHOTO/Clement Sabourin
