A display of large collaborative works by artist Melinda Hunt of the Hart Island Project and photographer Joel Sternfeld April 2, 2014 in her studio in Peekskill, New York. Sternfeld's photographs of a grave marker of the first New York City child to die of AIDS and be buried on Hart Island (R) and of Vicki Pavia, whose baby was buried on Hart Island (L), are surrounded by copies of historic documents and burial records found by Hunt. Hart Island in the Long Island Sound is New York City's public burial ground, for those bodies that are unclaimed or for those unable to afford a burial.
