FRANCE-WWII-DDAY-DE GAULLE-LECLERC

French Charles Leclerc de Hauteclocque, son of late General Philippe Leclerc de Hauteclocque, listens to General Vincent Lafontaine as they attend a ceremony in honor of General Charles de Gaulle, leader of the "France Libre" (Free French forces, created in 1940), on June 14, 2014 in Graye-sur-Mer, northwestern France. De Gaulle crossed the Channel from Britain aboard the French ship "La Combattante" (the fighter) and landed on the coast near Graye-sur-Mer, on June 14, 1944. The visit takes place a few days after the DD-Day ceremonies on June 6, 2014, commemorating the World War II Allied landing in Normandy. General Leclerc's 2nd Armoured Division (Division Blindee), contributed to the liberation of Paris and Strasbourg. AFP PHOTO/CHARLY TRIBALLEAU
