FRANCE-WWII-DDAY-DE GAULLE-LECLERC
French Charles Leclerc de Hauteclocque(R), son of late General Philippe Leclerc de Hauteclocque, attends a ceremony in honor of General Charles de Gaulle, leader of the "France Libre" (Free French forces, created in 1940), on June 14, 2014 in Graye-sur-Mer, northwestern France. De Gaulle crossed the Channel from Britain aboard the French ship "La Combattante" (the fighter) and landed on the coast near Graye-sur-Mer, on June 14, 1944. The visit takes place a few days after the DD-Day ceremonies on June 6, 2014, commemorating the World War II Allied landing in Normandy.
