US-AGRICULTURE-GASTRONOMY-FOOD AND DRINK
Scott Bush, President of the Templeton Rye Distillery, in Templeton, Iowa, the modern (and legal) version of Iowa's own Prohibition-era whiskey, feeds Duroc pigs on June 17, 2014, on a small farm in Woodward, Iowa. The pigs raised in open pens, are part of the Templeton Rye Heritage Pork Project, a sideline of the distillery, where Duroc pigs are fed a mixture of spent rye mash, a bi-product of the distilling process, and other ingredients. The pigs raised on this special diet are sold to chefs across the US becuse they claim diet gives the meat a unique flavor. AFP PHOTO / Juliette MICHEL
