NETHERLANDS-RACISM-TRADITION-SOCIAL-ZWARTE PIET-FILES

(FILES) -- A file picture taken on November 16, 2013 in Amsterdam shows demonstrators holding placards reading "Black Pete is Rascism" and "Free Pete" during a demonstration against Zwarte Piet (Black Pete), the companion of Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas) in Dutch tradition, and whose yearly feast is celebrated on the evening of December 5. A court in Amsterdam said on July 3, 2014 that Zwarte Piet is a "negative stereotype of people with black skin" ordering the mayor of Amsterdam to reconsider its position on this festive event destined to children.
