TO GO WITH AFP STROY BY PHILIPPE BERNES-LASSERRE
Francois Geleznikoff, the director of the Center for scientific and technical study of Aquitaine (CESTA/CEA) dedicated to the design of nuclear weapons, poses for a photograph on October 28, 2014, in Barp, Gironde region, southwest France. The 700 hectares complex will host in the future the Megajoule laser (LMJ), which will enable French nuclear scientists to validate models of nuclear explosion without having to conduct nuclear testing, 18 years after the last French nuclear testing in Polynesia.
