Lorry drivers from the French workers' union CGT, or General Confederation of Labour, (L) and the CFTC, or French Confederation of Christian Workers (R), block access roads to the Genevilliers port, outside Paris, early on January 19, 2015, at the start of a lorry drivers' strike to demand higher salaries. Lorry drivers began a renewable strike to demand higher salaries on the night of January 18, expected to be followed in several main French cities and by slowing traffic and blocking industrial sites and oil depots.
