Britain Forensics
Two blowfies or Calliphora vicina, which are of great use to pathologists as they land on and lay eggs within minutes of the death of a body, human or animal, and can help with the determination of time of death, as the exact stage of development of the egg to fly can be determined, on display at a press preview of an exhibition of Forensics at the Wellcome Collection in London, Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015. An exhibition at London's art-meets-science Wellcome Collection takes visitors on a journey through the afterlife of violent death, from crime scene to mortuary, laboratory and courtroom. It's a world that's familiar from movies and TV dramas. But curator Lucy Shanahan said Tuesday that the exhibition’s aim is to show the "real lives and personal narratives at the heart of forensics."
