IRAQ-US-UNREST-MARINES
A picture released by the US Marines 05 September 2004 shows Petty Officer 3rd Class Jason L. Marnne, a 22-year-old corpsman, providing in security during a patrol along the Euphrates River in the Iraqi al-Anbar province. The patrols were part of a joint combat patrol conducted by Marines and the Iraqi National Guard. At least six US marines were killed and several others wounded 06 September 2004 in an attack on a military convoy near the militant Iraqi stronghold of Fallujah, witnesses and US military sources said.
