ICOAST-MONEY-BCEAO
Two men look at new banknotes issued by the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) 08 September 2004 in the Ivorian city of Abidjan, where posters advertising the change have been posted in public places. The BCEAO, which oversees financial operations in eight west African countries -- Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Guinee-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Togo -- will withdraw from circulation all banknotes "type 1992" by 31 December 2004.
