US-VOLCANO-MOUNT ST HELENS
Undeterred by the summit of Mount St. Helens being completely shrouded in clouds, Andy Bach of Bellingham, WA, keeps an eye out as he maintains his position along the road at the Mount St. Helens National Monument hoping for a glimpse of the summit and volcanic activity 06 October 2004. The alert level for an eruption at Mount St. Helens has been downgraded to a level two, with scientists saying steam venting may continue for days or weeks without knowing for sure whether there will be a magma eruption during that period.
