MACEDONIA-USA-GREECE-NAME
Macedonian President Branko Crvenkovski (L) speaks 04 November 2004 at the parliament after the United States decided earlier this week to recognize Macedonia under its constitutional name -- Republic of Macedonia. Macedonia is recognized in the United Nations as the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia after Greece objected to the use of the name "Macedonia," which Greece claims for its northern province. Fourteen years after Macedonia declared independence from the former Yugoslavia, only a number of countries, like Turkey and Bulgaria, recognize it as the Republic of Macedonia.
