Defense attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. departs the child molestation trial of US pop star Michael Jackson after a day of defense testimony at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse in Santa Maria 10 May 2005. The manager of Jackson-s Neverland Ranch denied giving any order to hold the family of the boy now accusing the singer of molestation captive at the estate. Questioned about a log book entry to prevent Jackson-s alleged victim and his brother leaving the ranch, Joseph Marcus told jurors at the pop star-s trial that he had issued the directive purely for safety reasons.
