IRAQ-RELIGION-RAMADAN
A city worker sets up a sign in downtown Baghdad reminding Muslims of their fasting duties during the holy month of Ramadan on September 1, 2008. An inscription on the sign reads in Arabic "The blessings of Ramadan be with you". Iraqi Sunnis started to observe the Muslim holy month of Ramadan from today, to be followed a day later by Shiites. Throughout the month, followers are required to abstain from food, drink and sex from dawn to dusk.
