US Lieutenant General Ricardo Sanchez (L) , commander of US ground troops in Iraq, unfurls the flag of the US Army-s Corps of Engineers Gulf Region Division (Provisional) during its activation ceremony in Baghdad 25 January 2004 as the division-s commander, Major General Ronald Johnson (2nd L) looks on. The activation brings under one structure some 20 separate Corps offices and organizations. The division, which will be involved alongside Iraqi engineers in improvements to the country-s battered infrastructure, will have a hand in overseeing billions of dollars in reconstruction of the war-ravaged country.
